Shelby County Schools Alumni Hall of Fame:

Jointly with the Shelby County Board of Education, the Shelby County Schools Education Foundation honors distinguished graduates of the school system each year.

Persons inducted into the Hall of Fame must have graduated from a Shelby County Schools' high school at least 10 years previous to their nomination and must have made measurable and recognized contributions both to their chosen profession or craft and to the community (or communities) in which they reside. High schools that were in the county system at the time of the honoree's graduation, even if they are now closed or in the Memphis City Schools system, meet all criteria.

The Hall of Fame in previous years has honored community leaders from a wide variety of backgrounds, including: banking, retail business, medicine, community service, politics, religion, and education. Click Here for a complete list of Alumni Hall of Fame Members.  The inductees are honored at the Foundation's Evening of Excellence held in the winter of each year.  The event celebrates the achievements of Shelby County Schools, highlights the many talents of the system's students, and honors the SCS Alumni Hall of Fame inductees.  If you know of someone who is worthy of this great honor, please submit a nomination form by May 24, 2012.  Click here to download a nomination form and complete Hall of Fame nomination guidelines.

FedEx was the presenting sponsor of the 2011 Evening of Excellence. We also wish to thank our corporate sponsor AT&T, school sponsors Jostens Ringleader and UofM College of Education and bronze sponsor Brother Industries, as well as the generous individuals and organizations who bought individual tables of ten, thus helping the Foundation raise significant operational revenues from the event.  All proceeds go toward continuing the mission of the Shelby County Schools Education Foundation.

This year's Inductees will be honored at the Foundation's Evening of Excellence on January 17, 2013, at the Holiday Inn University of Memphis.  More information to follow.  Click here to download an Reservation Card. Those being honored are:
